I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a little bit about our incredible school. I am so fortunate to be the principal of Maplewood Community School. Maplewood has many things to celebrate, including our commitment to social emotional learning, high standards of excellence in instruction as well as being a one of a kind community that offers rich opportunities for outdoor learning, creative expression, and philanthropy.

I have been a proud educator for over two decades.  I earned my Bachelor and Master’s of Education from Texas Tech University. Over the years, I have taught elementary, middle, and secondary, served as a district instructional science coach, an assistant principal and am now the proud principal of Maplewood! On a personal note, I have 4 kids who are proud products of AISD schools and are on to their next adventures into adulthood. It seems like yesterday they were making their way through elementary school. I view education as a lifelong process, and I believe that students are at the center of all school-related decisions.

Building community in inclusive environments and supporting our students academically from our staff and caregivers are at the core of Maplewood. The strength of this community and its active participation in supporting our children has served Maplewood well and will continue to carry us forward. At Maplewood, we work together to live out our shared mission to provide an educational foundation that prepares each student to be a productive, socially responsible citizen and a lifelong learner.

We work as a team that is student centered to move our students forward academically while supporting their social-emotional growth. At Maplewood we are growing leaders and learners! I look forward to connecting with each of you very soon!
